Olympic athletes are going to have quite a famous fan cheering for them during the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympics.

Back at the 2022 Winter Olympics in China, Hall didn’t just show up — he showed out, snagging Olympic gold for Team USA in freestyle skiing and cementing himself as one of the sport’s biggest stars. As one admirer recently put it: “got lost in his eyes.” Another watching him on the slopes wrote, “Omg he’s a god.”

Mariah Carey kicked off the 2026 Winter Olympics opening ceremony in Milan with a performance of “Volare” in Italian and her own hit.

I hope that the opening ceremony is seen by everyone ⁠as an opportunity ‍to be respectful of each other,” IOC President Kirsty Coventry told reporters.

Several athletes are objecting to the International Olympic Committee over sponsorship of the Games by major oil companies. They say fossil fuel use threatens winter conditions needed for snow sports.

Some of the biggest stars were honored by carrying the torch on part of its journey from Greece to Milan.
