After an almost five-year journey to the solar system’s largest planet, our Juno spacecraft successfully entered Jupiter’s orbit during a 35-minute engine burn. Confirmation that the burn had completed was received on Earth at 11:53 p.m. EDT Monday, July 4. Juno captured this unique time-lapse movie of the Galilean satellites in motion about Jupiter. The movie begins on June 12th with Juno 10 million miles from Jupiter, and ends on June 29th, 3 million miles distant. Details: http://go.nasa.gov/

Take an enchanting tour on NASA Solar System Exploration's #JunoMission, as it flies closer than any other spacecraft in two decades to Jupiter and its largest moon, Ganymede. Citizen scientist Gerald Eichstädt created this time-lapse animation using composite images from the mission's JunoCam image. Don’t be fooled by the serene views – Jupiter’s powerful gravity has accelerated the spacecraft to almost 130,000 mph (210,000 kph) relative to the planet. Get more details on the mission: https://g
